Wind, Rain, & Change

"Something will not go as planned, just be ready for that."
I heard this phrase over and over, until I thought I might go crazy, but the truth of it went to more of an extreme than I've ever seen. The weeks before the wedding had been fluctuating between hot, rainy, and cool. The week of the wedding a storm came in, bringing non-stop heavy rains and wind. Our garden venue for the ceremony was flooded, and even the reception pavilion was wet due to the wind blowing in the rain. To say a couple of things changed is an understatement. The rehearsal day turned into a scramble to come up with a completely new plan for the ceremony and reception. I am so grateful for my amazing family and their ability to keep me grounded amidst the chaos! With their help, along with my Go To Nations family, our coordinator, and decorator, we were able to change to a new location, and somehow end up with an absolutely beautiful ceremony and reception!

What's Next?

As we wait for God to show us the next steps in our process to visit the States, we are continuing to work toward our goals here in Iloilo. While I have been given a little bit of time off from the Sonshine Center in order to adjust and begin building my home with Bert, we are taking the opportunity to work toward our desire of having a studio for writing and recording worship music! My family very generously gave us the gift of a piano for our wedding, and we could not be more excited to have such a beautiful instrument to start with! Our desire to bring worship back into the hearts and lives of the young people in this city is burning deep inside us, and we look forward to seeing how God continues to move.
